Directions & Parking

Calw is located about 60 km southwest of Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Württemberg, and is easy to reach due to its geographical location.

  • Freeway A8 from Karlsruhe:
    Exit Pforzheim-West (approx. 25 km); continue on the Bundesstraße 463 in the direction of Calw
  • Freeway A8 from Ulm/Stuttgart:
    Exit Leonberg (approx. 30 km), continue on the Bundesstraße 295 in the direction of Weil der Stadt to Calw
  • Freeway A81 from the south/ Lake Constance:
    Exit Gärtringen-Stadtmitte (approx. 20 km), continue on the K 1075; near Deckenpfronn turn left onto the K 1022. At the traffic circle take the first exit and continue on the B 296 towards Calw.

Parking directly in Calw

With five parking garages in central locations, the city of Calw offers over 1,000 parking spaces in direct proximity to the pedestrian zone. The special feature: The so-called Calw “pretzel tariff”, i.e. free parking for the first half hour, applies in all parking garages. In the ZOB even a whole hour is free.

The parking garages are open around the clock and offer barrier-free access to parking spaces for people with walking disabilities, as well as parents with small children and strollers.

Arrival by train

Calw is located on the Pforzheim – Calw – Horb – Tübingen cultural railway line. The central bus station (Calw ZOB) is located directly in the city center.

Long-distance train connections are best reached in Stuttgart or Pforzheim. Via Pforzheim we recommend you to continue your journey with the Kulturbahn to Calw.

If you are traveling via Stuttgart, we recommend taking the S-Bahn S6 Stuttgart – Weil der Stadt and changing to bus line 670 to Calw.

We are also currently building the Hermann-Hesse-Bahn for a direct connection between Calw and Stuttgart.

From Calw you have good connections to the region. The district-wide tariff association VGC offers attractive public transport services with a user-friendly tariff system.

  • Greater Stuttgart area: Bus line 670 DB Bahn Regiobus / Volz; (Calw-Weil der Stadt) connection to S6
  • Böblingen / Sindelfingen area:
    Bus line 763 DB Bahn Regiobus; Calw-Böblingen (connection to S1)

Destination for the city center: Calw ZOB (Central Bus Station)
