The Calw registry office documents and certifies important events in people’s lives. These primarily include births, marriages and deaths.
The registry office is the first point of contact for couples who want to say yes to each other. Here they can register a marriage and clarify all the necessary formalities. This includes, for example, the examination of marriageability, the clarification of name issues, and the issuance of marriage certificates and marriage certificates.
In addition to the tasks in the area of marriages, the registry office is also responsible for the certification of births and deaths. When a birth occurs, the birth certificate is issued, which is needed, among other things, to apply for child benefit and parental allowance. In the event of a death, the death certificate is issued, which is important for deregistration at the Residents’ Registration Office and for applying for widows’ and orphans’ pensions. We are also here to help with paternity acknowledgments and church disaffiliations.
In addition, the registry office also offers other services, such as the issuance of certificates and notarizations. Name changes, for example in the case of adoptions or divorces, can also be applied for at the registry office.

Marriages are possible in Calw by individual arrangement from Monday to Friday during the usual opening hours. In addition, you can say “I do” on certain Saturday dates. We will be happy to advise you about available dates.
Information about wedding dates in the districts of Altburg, Hirsau and Stammheim can be obtained from the respective local administrations.
